Mawa Kachori is a popular Indian sweet snack that is commonly consumed in the northern states of India, particularly in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Here is a simple recipe to make Mawa Kachori at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Lukewarm water, as needed
- 1 cup khoya (mawa), grated
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp nutmeg powder
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 2 tbsp almonds, chopped
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying
Instructions:
To make the dough, mix together flour, ghee, salt, and enough lukewarm water to form a soft and pliable dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes and set aside, covered with a damp cloth.
In a separate bowl, mix together khoya, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, raisins, and almonds.
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into round balls. Flatten each ball and place a portion of the khoya mixture in the center. Pinch the edges of the dough to seal the filling inside.
In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Gently slide the kachoris into the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown and crisp.
Drain the kachoris on a paper towel to remove any excess oil. Serve hot with a cup of tea or coffee.
Enjoy your delicious and sweet mawa kachoris.
