Here's a simple recipe for Chicken Changezi:
Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, for cooking
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup cream
- Chopped fresh coriander, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces to the yogurt mixture and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the fridge for better results.
- In a pan, heat some oil and fry the marinated chicken until it is golden brown. Set aside.
- In the same pan, add some more oil and fry the chopped onions until they are translucent.
- Add the tomato paste and fry for a few more minutes.
- Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan and mix well.
- Add the cream and let it cook for a few minutes, until the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander and serve hot with rice or naan.
