Roti wheat Recipes

 



Here is a simple recipe for making roti, a popular flatbread in South Asian cuisine:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of oil
  • 3/4 cup of warm water

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and oil.
  2. Gradually add in the warm water and mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into equal portions (about 8-10).
  6. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it slightly with your hands.
  7. Dust each flattened dough ball with flour and roll it out into a thin, circular shape.
  8. Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  9. Place the rolled out dough on the skillet and cook for about 30-60 seconds on each side, until small brown spots appear.
  10. Remove from heat and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or curry.
